The Company is primarily engaged in the ownership, acquisition, development and leasing of skilled nursing, seniors housing and other healthcare-related properties. The Company's real estate portfolio consisted of approximately 216 skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), multi-service campuses, assisted living facilities (ALFs) and independent living facilities (ILFs) consisting of over 22,831 operational beds and units located in approximately 28 states located in California, Texas, Louisiana, Idaho and Arizona. SNFs are licensed healthcare facilities that provide restorative, rehabilitative and nursing care for people. ALFs have licensed healthcare facilities that provide personal care services, support and housing for those who need help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, eating and dressing and medical care. ILFs are also known as retirement communities or senior apartments.
